Wisdom from the kids

“Together We Roll”

Born out of fire, reborn out of heart!
Mission: To empower community youth to achieve and excel beyond what was thought possible though the coordinated participation in community running events. Youth not only experience achievement through physical and material gains, but also character development through their charitable contributions to community programs, and from being an integral part of a unique team.

Oak Cliff Racing is a community running Club that helps empower area youth with the courage, character, and confidence to succeed and even excel in today’s world. The program grew from a very exciting and successful school program (SCOC Racing) to become one that stands on its own. The goal of the program is to provide a sense of “family” or “team” for kids in an activity that is more often than not focused on the individual. It is because of the Individual factor that races can be very intimidating for people. The focus of the team is not on individual success as much as it is the team. The success of this is not always measured by the number of medals won, but by the perseverance, dedication, courage, and the character that is displayed towards others.

Last year the original group ran 26 races including one in Colorado and one in Austin Texas. They range from 5k races up to ½ marathons. Members from that group will participate and be a part of this exciting new chapter.

Membership: Membership to the team is based on the 3 C’s: Courage, Character, Commitment.
